How to launch a contest?

It is very easy to launch a Contest on CoContest platform. First, the customer must provide a description of his needs, preferences and project’s objectives. Next, they customer must upload the blueprint and some photos of the space which describes the actual conditions, and other images which inspire designers. Finally, it is important to set the deadline of competition and choose the type of project that best fits your needs.

 

What do I need to launch a contest?

Before you start filling out info on the “launch page” , you need to provide dimension drawings of the space you intend to renovate. We’ll also need some current photos of the space/property, in order to give designers an idea of what they will be working on.
In addition should add some images about spaces, furniture, decorations which you like most. You can find them in our image database and you will attach your request.

How does the process for evaluation of proposal work?

After the deadline of the competition you can view all of the complete projects. Study them carefully and assign a score to each one. According to the scores give, you create ranking of the uploaded projects, which consequently determines the winner of the contest.

It is extremely important to confirm the project winner after having optimized the ranking of received proposals.

What happens if I do not like any of the proposals that I have received?

Our designers are all professionals who volunteer their time to create customer-requested projects. It is therefore necessary to protect their work as well as your investment. Therefor you must choose a dinner. Normally on our platform, every contest receives multiple projects but if for some reason, you do not receive any proposals at all, you will not be asked to choose a winner and will be refunded.

Can a designer really deliver a solid project without ever having visited my property?

CoContest innovation is based on a new and functional  methodology for remote design. The designers can have access to all the necessary information for realizing a concept project by reading the questionnaire each client must fill at the moment of launching a contest.
What’s more, our designers are creative professionals who are used to taking part in international architecture and design competitions, where normally it is not possible to visit the space they are working on beforehand.

What can I do to make my contest more appealing?

It is important to follow some guidelines in order to obtain a larger number of participants at the contest.
It is important that your idea is conveyed with clarity, so keep your sentences and description short and simple.
We also recommend that you write your description in English. This will allow larger number of designers to be able to view and participate in your contest. Finally add as many photos as possible. In this case, a picture really is worth a thousand words, so take and upload lots of photos of both the current state of the property/space, as well as photos of how you want your property/space to look like afterwards. This will facilitate our designers in their work.

N.B. It is extremely important to  answer the designers’ questions in a short time span (max 24h) in order to allow the normal project execution.

What if I do not have the blueprints for my property?

If you don’t have the blueprints of your property, you can use an  application to help you draw one. Just download the application called Magic Plan and your blueprint will be ready in a few minutes. Magic Plan is designed specifically to help you create a floor plan with measurements of your space by only taking a few pictures from your cell phone.
In addition, you can draw a plant directly on a sheet of paper stating a few necessary measuremen t(some measurements can be deduced by our designers), scan it and upload it on our web platform when you launch of the contest.

Can I launch a contest for a room or an area that is not listed on the CoContest website?

Yes, you can! Choose a room from the ones available on CoContest which is most similar to what you are looking for. You can do this by reading the descriptions alongside the room types and matching them to the space you wantto remodel. In case non of the categories are similar to the room  you have in mind, you can choose the “other” category and contact us at support@cocontest.com and we will provide you more information about the room you want to renew.

Is it possible to contact the designer during the execution of the project?

Yes, in the section of “questions and answers” you can get in touch with all the designers (who will be anonymous until the customer chooses the winner). In order to add other project specifications and to answer their questions.

N.B. It is extremely important to answer customer questions in a short time span (24h) in order to allow thedesigners the right execution of the project and so to get the bigger number of project

Can I choose more than one winner?

The first three classified designers win the contest, each of them wins the prize of the competition – paid by the client -according to these percentages:
70% for the first one, 20% for the second one and 10% to the third one .

What are the Projects for Which I Can Launch a Contest?

Every kind of planning concept, from the interior design to the small operations of interior design, which does not necessarily include the demolition of partition wall (not structuring wall). In addition the entire design of villa or any other kind of property and gardens.

How long is the duration of a contest?

The duration of a contest depends exclusively on the customer’s choice during the contest launch. The customer can choose from 14 to 60 days and eventually extend the deadline, if necessary.
The duration of the contest is displayed on the top of the page of the related contest.

How do I upload a project?

Once you have chosen a contest to attend, you can join the competition by pressing first “APPLY”,  and then upload the project by clicking the button  “UPLOAD YOUR PROJECT”.  It will open a special page where you can upload the required files. It’s important to remember that the resources necessary to apply the contest will vary according to the package chosen by the customer (Concept, Project or Advanced).

It’s possible also to attach a description of the proposed project, which will be explanatory for the customer.

N.B. It is possible to find out the list of required file for the contests in the section ” requirement” in the page contest details.

It is not allowed to write personal contact details (name, surname, email, logo or personal website) neither on the images or in the description, penalty disqualification.

What does “kind of furniture” mean?

During the launch of the project, the customer can choose among three categories of furniture:commercial, standard or luxury according to his disposable budget.
This information provides the designer with indications about the kind of the brand and furniture to choose during drafting stage and especially in the furniture table.

How can I fill out the porfolio?

Before filling out  the portfolio, the designer adds his basic information (name and surname) in the “personal info” field in the setting page.
In the same field, the designer can upload his profile picture and make his portfolio recognizable, by going to the specific area and uploading pictures that he prefers.
Then the designer can upload all his works and projects, by clicking on the specific area in the Project Section.
At this point, in order to upload projects, the designer fills all the required field , describing the project kind, title and then uploads the related images.

The portfolio is a great way to demostrate designers’ competences and works, so it is very important to take care of it and update it frequently.

What do I get if I don’t win the contest?

If you do not win the contest, you’ll receive a certain number of points simply for uploading your project. Points are accumulated throughout the year and will help determine your position within our community of designers.

How do I earn points?

You earn ranking points each time you participate in a contest and upload your project. If you win the prize of the contest, you will earn other points.

Rules for earning points are the following:

  • Participating a contest, the designer will earn  a number of points corresponding to the contest prize value. Example: (1000 prize, 1000 assigned point).
  • The first, the second and the third ranking winners earn points both for participating at a contest, and for winning the prize of the contest. The winner points are assigned by their ranking status which is respectively 70%, 20% and 10% of the total value of points for participating to a contest.
    Example: $1000 prize, 1000 assigned point, to which we add the prize for the first ranking 700 and 200 for the second and the 100 for the third. Hence the first in the ranking will have 1700 points, the second will have 1200 and the third 1100.
How can I participate in a contest?

In order to participate in a Contest you must be registered as a Designer.

Go to Browse Contest in order to view all active Contests. Choose the Contest you want to participate in, and click on Apply Now.

You can now work on the Contest and ask the client any question about the project in the Comments section at the bottom of the page.

Each Contest requires different documents that are determined by the type and the package of the Contest. Check the Requirements section to view what files you need to provide for each Contest.

How does payment take place?

If your project is among the first three in the ranking, at the end of the process of evaluation, the corresponding prize to your ranking will be automatically paid to your Paypal account.

In order to claim your prize, enter the Dashboard of your account. Go to Withdrawal and fill out the form and insert the amount you want to withdraw and the email with which you are registered to Paypal.

Once you have confirmed your withdrawal request, the amount will be transferred to  your Paypal account within 24 hours.

If the sum has not been transferred to your account after 24 hours, contact our client support either via the chat on our website or send an email to payment@cocontest.com

What is the Archistar account?

This account is reserved to italian architect or engineer from Professional Association.

The account Archistar allows you to participate to contest launched from customers of Intesa San Paolo Bank.
